12 Day Transformation – Day Two

Like My Page!

On Day 2, we focus on the discipline and practice of taking up the word of God and beginning to use it as a weapon against all that would erect itself as a barrier to obstruct us walking in the true knowledge of the Lord.
The word of God is called “the sword of the Spirit” in Ephesians 6:17. The word is completely capable of destroying all strongholds in our lives. Paul had this to say about the word of God as a weapon:

“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, New Living Translation).

Let’s read it again this time in The Message:

“We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).

Whatever is not the truth of God as contained in His word must be uprooted from our minds and hearts. Take up and begin to wield the sword of the Spirit and begin to uncover and dig up all erroneous beliefs and philosophies that are entrenched in the mind due to carnal thinking and the traditions of men.
By necessity, this means you must read the word every day. In Hosea 4:6, God says that His people “are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The knowledge referred to here is ‘rejected knowledge.’ Let’s read the entire verse. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
Often the difficulties we experience in life are due to the fact that we are ignorant of the powerful principles of the word of God that when implemented can set us free! We have access to all things pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of God. We learn who God is only through His word. (See 2 Peter 1:3). So take up the weapons of your warfare and demolish all barriers erected against the truth of God!

EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF THE WORD

For the next 20 days, read the Scriptures at the bottom of the page sometime before you go to sleep. You will be amazed at the difference it makes in your life! Also, ask the Holy Spirit to grant you understanding of the word before you read it and to help you apply it daily in your walk with the Lord.
PRAYER FOR POWER
Lord God, I ask you for forgiveness for thinking that I can live my life without drawing from the power of Your word. Lord, teach me to study to show myself approved to God that I may overcome in all areas! Amen.
