Yes indeed, salvation is only a marker to the 'beginning' of our relationship in Christ.

It's not like ok, we've got salvation now and have arrived, no, salvation is not a destination because of what Jesus has done 'FOR' us, but more so, salvation is what He has done 'TO' us -

Salvation is that we are now a 'new' creation.

It's where we begin learning how to walk, putting on the new man, and therefore it is not what we 'do' that defines us, but who we 'are' in the doing that defines our new identity and Sonship in Christ.
