Jesus died on the Cross not just to forgive our sins, but ultimately to grant us eternal life (See John 3:16; 10:10). It is impossible to have eternal life apart from a personal relationship with the Son. “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Now that we have been saved, we are reconciled to God so that we can experience intimate communion with Him. This naturally includes hearing Christ’s voice. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice…” (John 10:27). It also involves as seeing God with our spiritual eyes. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me” (John 14:19).”
