“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14).
The message Jesus preached is known as the Gospel of the Kingdom . This message came not only in proclamation but also in demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power . Luke 8:1 records, "Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God ."
When Jesus Christ walked the earth two thousand years ago, He went around doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). His authority to accomplish such mighty works was based on the fact that He was establishing His Father's Kingdom on the earth. "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," Jesus declared (Matthew 4:17).
The vision of Awake Nations is to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of the Kingdom to the nations of the world thus hastening the return of Jesus Christ, "...looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God..." (2 Peter 3:12).
Our vision is to take the Gospel of the Kingdom to the nations of the world demonstrating Christ's love and power to those who do not know Him with signs and wonders following and thus hastening the return of Christ (Matt. 24:14; 2 Peter 3:12). We will accomplish this objective by: 1) uniting churches and ministers in given locales to work together to fulfill the Great Commission through conferences and and teachings (Mt. 28:18-20); 2) Plant churches and conduct outreach throughout the world; 3) Train, resource and support indigenous ministers to evangelize, disciple, plant churches and develop Kingdom leaders among their own peoples; 4) Support and partner with projects and missions that facilitate high yield evangelism.
Our Values:
Discipleship
Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20). This is the mission of the Church. We value a holistic discipleship process that results in followers of Jesus become Christ-like in their behavior – walking with Jesus (1 John 2:6) and also serving in ministry by doing the works of Jesus (John 14:12).
Worship
As a church, we value a lifestyle of worship as well specific expressions of worship such as praise, adoration and prayer. True worship is glorifying God in all we say, think and do. Worship is one’s response, both personal and corporate, to God – for who He is and what He has done.
Community
We value relationships based on biblical principles as essential in forging a strong and healthy church. In the context of Christian friendships needs are met and lives are transformed. Small groups greatly enhance the spiritual well being of a church providing opportunity for spiritual growth, healing, friendships and leadership development.
Spirit-Empowered
We value the presence of the Holy Spirit. We desire that our gatherings be flexible enough in format to permit the Living God to interact with His people through the New Testament gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit not only brings us the words of Jesus, but also continues to do the works of Jesus in our midst - healing, deliverance, and life transformation.
Excellence
We value a standard of excellence in all that we say and do. The Bible instructs us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Col.3:17). Mediocrity and half-hearted effort is not worthy of our Christian calling.
Team-Ministry
We value doing ministry as a “team.” We believe that teamwork and ministry teams are the right approach to ministry. We are committed to the success of one another and place a higher value on team accomplishments than on individual accomplishments. "Two are better off than one because together they can work more effectively." (Ecclesiastes 4:9 GNB)
Equipping for Ministry
We value the ministry of all believers and believe the role of the local church is to help disciples of Jesus discover, develop and deploy their spiritual gifts and calling in order to be an active force in the marketplace. We value and align ourselves with the heart of Father God to reach all nations and ethnic/cultural groups with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will intentionally release teams to help start new churches and to evangelize other cultures both at home and abroad.
